The Batman massacre gunman is due to face his first court appearance.

Monday 23 July 2012

James Holmes has been held in solitary confinement since attacking a cinema audience during a midnight premiere of the latest Batman film, killing 12 people and wounding 58 others, some critically. Holmes, 24, will be moved to a court next door to his jail in Colorado, for the hearing. Authorities said that during the brief court appearance the charges against him of first degree murder will be read. It was the worst shooting in the US since an attack at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009 that killed 13 people. Holmes has been held in Centennial, about 12 miles from the Aurora cinema where the massacre took place.
